Family Sponsorship
Your close family members can live, work, and study in Canada by becoming permanent residents through family sponsorship. If you are 18 or older and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or registered under the Canadian Indian Act, you may be able to sponsor eligible relatives. Connect with us to find out how we can support you with your sponsorship application.
Sponsoring Parents or Grandparents
If you completed an interest-to-sponsor form in 2020 and received an invitation for the 2022 intake, you could apply to sponsor your parents or grandparents for Canadian permanent residency. The invitation window ran from October 12 to 20, 2022, and is now closed.
Sponsor Spouse, Partner or Child
If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can sponsor your spouse, partner, or dependent children to gain permanent residency in Canada. Sponsors must be financially capable of supporting them and ensure they will not need to rely on government assistance.
Sponsoring Other Relatives
You may also sponsor certain other relatives under the Family Class if you are at least 18 years old and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or registered under the Canadian Indian Act. Sponsors are responsible for providing financial support upon their relatives’ arrival, ensuring their basic needs such as food, housing, and clothing are met so they do not need social assistance.
